Stewardship
Purpose
To enrich the community of Bethlehem Community Church to know the truth of God’s Word as established in the principles of biblical stewardship. This is accomplished by demonstrating Christ’s love and truth in helping people to gain peace, joy and contentment through a practical biblical approach to managing their finances and other areas of living.
Goals
The central goal of the Stewardship Ministry is to educate believers at BCC with treasured knowledge of God’s Word so that they can be better stewards of all that God has entrusted to them. This includes finances, possessions, time, health, spiritual growth, family, and work. The primary area that this ministry will focus on is finances. Jesus said in Matt 6:24: “No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.” How people view money is a window into the spiritual health of their soul as Jesus comments on in Luke 12:34 “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Believers must comprehend the truth that “the earth is the LORD's, and all its fullness” (1 Corinthians 10:26) and for one to truly live a satisfied life they must “make sure that [their] character is free from the love of money, being content with what [they] have” (Hebrews 13:5). In light of these truths, it is the intention of this ministry to give a systematic understanding of God’s Word in relation to Money.
