Purpose

To gather believers together in small groups to study the Apostles doctrine, cultivate evangelism, encourage the saints, pray in unity, fellowship in the Spirit, and worship the Lord. Small groups build community, foster hospitality, and open opportunities to serve God, as Acts 2:44-47 says, “Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need. So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people.”

Goals

The primary goal is to create a platform for the Word of God to be studied and internalized to create Christ-likeness in the believer. The small group setting allows believers to build relationships with each other, which opens people up to share burdens and pray for one another. The Bible teaches us to pray for one another (James 5:16), so prayer is also a primary goal of this ministry. Other goals include: Serving one another in good works (Galatians 5:13). Bearing one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2). Loving one another (John 13:34). Exhorting one another (Hebrews 3:13). All these goals will be accomplished as we devote ourselves fully to Jesus Christ.
