Greeters & Ushers
Purpose
To make people feel welcomed with a warm smile that reflects the love of Christ.
Goals
Warmly welcome newcomers, making a special effort to greet those who have been attending just a short time. Being friendly, a smile, and a personal comment all say “I’m so glad you’re here!” Collect the bulletins and cards left on the chairs and in card pockets, return everything, including unused bulletins, in the green baskets. Sometimes greeters and ushers are needed for special events such as Christmas Eve Candlelight Service, Easter Sunrise Service, children’s plays, weddings and funerals.
Ministry Opportunities
Volunteers need to love and have a genuine interest in people! You will need to be at church 30 minutes before service and available to greet for about fifteen minutes into the service. A time commitment of consecutive weeks makes it easier for you to identify new and returning people, but arrangements can be made to accommodate your schedule.
