Purpose
Enfolding male newcomers to BCC, fellowship, discipling men to maturity in Christ. Using the “one another’s” of the New Testament to help BCC men be real with God and each other so we can together gradually approximate normal Christian living = revival.
Goals
The goals of the men’s ministry are for people to do something different to get a different result, including: - affirm effort and courage - take risks for the Kingdom - employ your spiritual gifts - take responsibility and initiative - accept the need for accountability - grow in effective servant leadership - make a godly impact at home, at work and at church - be flexible and open to the leading of the Holy Spirit
Ministry Opportunities
We have need for several teams to come together: Hospitality team: come between 6:30-6:45 AM to open up, set up, provide or organize and delegate refreshments, and welcome people. Administrative/communication team: facilitating communication via updating and circulating phone numbers, email addresses, writing and circulating a news and prayer letter, helping to plan coordinated meetings with other men’s groups, retreats, etc.
Care team: follow up on missing people with call or visit, extending (organizing/delegating) appropriate care to those who are ill or have special needs, Prayer team: two or three people (men or women) who have a passion for prayer who would pray regularly for this ministry – in general and with specificity as needs arise or as God directs.
Worship team: Someone with a servant heart to lead men closer into the presence of God via worship.
Teaching and discipleship team: work with Brian and Frank on content direction for teaching/sharing times (all are welcome to give input). The gifts required correspond to the numbered responsibilities: Hospitality helps/service, giving (for refreshments) Administrator/leadership/creative communication Mercy, faith, intercession, helps, encouragement Intercession faith, encouragement Heart for worship, service/musicianship Wisdom, pastor/teacher, discernment
